About Abundant Wings Collective
Abundant Wings Collective offers affirming, trauma-informed care for LGBTQ+ people and the clinicians who support them. We create intentional spaces for rest, learning, identity exploration, and sustainable healing.
Abundant Wings Affirming Standard
The Abundant Wings Affirming Standard defines what it means to provide truly affirming, trauma-informed care within this collective. This standard moves beyond identity labels or performative allyship and requires ongoing, demonstrated commitment in clinical practice, self-awareness, and community accountability.
Clinicians aligned with this standard commit to:
- Lived Awareness & Humility
Engaging in continuous self-reflection around identity, bias, privilege, and power without defensiveness - Clinical Competence in LGBTQ+ Care
Understanding identity development, minority stress, systemic harm, and trauma specific to LGBTQ+ experiences - Affirming Practice in Action
Consistently using correct names and pronouns, creating inclusive documentation, and ensuring sessions actively affirm identity - Trauma-Informed Approach
Recognizing the impact of relational, societal, and systemic trauma and responding with safety, attunement, and care - Accountability & Growth
Participating in consultation, feedback, and continued learning while remaining open to repair when harm occurs - Ethical Integrity
Practicing within scope, honoring client autonomy, and upholding the highest standards of care - Community Commitment
Contributing to a culture of connection, respect, and shared responsibility within the collective
Statement of Affirmation
Abundant Wings Collective is a space rooted in authenticity, safety, and connection. We center LGBTQ+ lived experience and welcome clinicians who demonstrate a deep, ongoing commitment to affirming care.
Affirming, to us, is not a label. It is a practice. It is reflected in how clinicians show up, the language they use, the awareness they carry, and the responsibility they take for continued growth.
We are intentional about cultivating a community that values depth over performative alignment. This means prioritizing clinicians who are either part of the LGBTQ+ community or who have demonstrated sustained, meaningful engagement in affirming work.
Our commitment is to create a space where both clinicians and the people they serve can experience care that is not only inclusive, but truly safe, respectful, and empowering.
